|| Angels play a big part in man's preoccupation with
the mystical aspect of life..... be it in religious form or otherwise....They offer comfort and hope when man dare not look above himself.
Those of us who have had a religious upbringing will remember being told about 'Guardian Angels' when we were little, and afterwards
taught about the heirachy of angels, and other events that took place in religious history.... And over the years the most delightful
poems, stories, and sayings have been written about them.... We have collected a few and would like to share them with you for your enjoyment.
The reason angels can fly is because they take themselves lightly......
G. K. Chesterton
Just inside the Pearly Gates
Underneath a gorgeous sky
Two angels hovered near a cloud
(They don't sit like you and I!)
"I just don't understand it,"
Said angel number one,
"I've watched and studied everything
Those foolish souls have done."
The second angel gave a shrug,
"Why do you even care?
It's no concern of ours at all
What they choose to do down there."
"Maybe not," the first one said,
"But still I'd like to know
With all the blessings they've received
What makes them quarrel so?"
The second angel stretched his wings
Then smoothed a ruffled feather,
"It's just about a hopeless cause
For men to live together."
"The Master's working very hard
Has been for generations.....
And still they fight among themselves
causing death and devastation."
The older angel softly sighed,
"You can't change things, little one,
The Master's tried everything
He even sacrificed His Son!!"
The young angel nodded slowly,
"That's what seems so bad!
He suffered, bled and died for them!
He gave them all he had!"
"Oh, He still has more to give,"
The other looked both sad and wise,
"For I've seen Jesus when souls are lost,
And I've held Him while He cries."
"For to Him each one is precious
With a value beyond measure.....
He wants them all up here with Him
To share in Heaven's treasure."
"And sometimes, someone down on Earth
Will kneel in fervent prayer
Crying out, 'Please help me, God!
Show me that You're there!'"
"And when that happens you will hear
All the bells of Heaven ring!
As the Master's love pours down like rain
And the Heart of Jesus sings!"

YOUR POCKET ANGEL
I am a tiny angel,
I'm smaller than your thumb.
I live in people 's pockets
That's where I have my fun.
I don't suppose you've seen me
I'm too tiny to detect:
Though I'm with you all the Time,
I doubt we've ever met.
Before I was an Angel....
I was a fairy in a flower:
God, Himself, hand-picked me,
And gave me Angel power.
Now God has many Angels
That he trains in Angel pools:
We become His eyes, and ears, and hands
We become His special tools.
And because God is so busy,
With way too much to do,
He said that my assignment
Is to keep close watch on you.
When He tucked me in your Pocket
He blessed you with Angel care,
Then told me to never leave you,
And I vowed always to be there.

I want to be an angel,

A crown upon my forehead,
A harp within my hand.

WHISPER OF ANGEL'S WINGS
Today I stumbled and once again
Was lifted up by an unseen hand.
What comfort and joy that knowledge brings.
For I hear the whisper of angel wings.
The guardian angels God sends to all
To bear us up when we stumble and fall.
Trust Him, my friend, and often you'll hear
The whisper of angel wings hovering near.
I BELIEVE IN ANGELS!
I believe in Angels,
Their presence is everywhere
In the warmth of a helping hand,
In the smiles that people share.
Angels are at the heart
Of the good things people do,
And when our days are troubled
Their caring guides us through.
Angels' love is all around
In stars that light the night,
In a mother's gentle words
And arms that hold you tight.
I believe that Angels
Are special messengers of love,
God's way of making earth
A bit more like Heaven above.

THE RUSTLE OF ANGEL WINGS
I looked for You in big things;
I couldn't find You there.
I cried; I sighed; for others seemed to see You
I wanted just to know You
so much to hear You speak;
But alas, I found that others heard Your voice;
A child smiled at me today
And suddenly I knew
Your smile! In little things unnoticed! Lord,
It was You.
"Seek and you shall find Me
in every little thing."
Finally, I'm listening!
Did I just hear the Rustle of Angel Wings?

A CHILD'S GUARDIAN ANGEL
Four angels to my bed,
Four angels round my head.
One to watch and one to pray,
And two to bear my soul away.
AN ANGEL APPEARED
I was sad and all alone,
The worst feeling I had known.
I felt a hand reach out to me,
Somehow set my spirit free.
I looked to see who was there.
There was no one standing there.
I thought I'd felt a feathery wing,
Thought I heard an Angel sing.
I felt a soft warm breeze,
As my pain began to ease.
I had a feeling I was not alone.
The strangest feeling I had known.
In the darkest hour an Angel appears,
Gently caressing away my fears.
I must be protected by an Angel's love,
God sent down from up above.

The Angels were all singing out of tune,
And hoarse with having little else to do,
Excepting to wind up the sun and moon
Or curb a runaway young star or two.

If I have freedom in my love,
And in my soul am free,-
Angels alone that soar above,
Enjoy such liberty.

It is not because angels are holier than men or devils that makes them
angels, but because they do not expect holiness from one another, but from

SOMEDAY I'LL KNOW
They come and go, more quickly than
I'd really like, you know.
Sometimes I know their names,
But mostly, when I'd least expect,
Sometimes they hug me tight,
Silent, but so loving as I cry,
And I go on again,
Strengthened when I thought
I'd only die.
Sometimes they rush into my life,
Bumping me, pushing,
And I see another way.
It's only when they're gone,
And the light from their fair lantern
I wonder, where I would have been
Are these chance meetings.... fate....
or can it be
These are the angels God has promised me?
Are these friends.... or angels....is it so?
Maybe not today,
Someday I'll know!
